Aalborg Jubilaeums Akvavit 700ml
Story
Aalborg Jubilee Akvavit came on the market in 1946 as a festive celebration of the 100th anniversary of the launch of Aalborg Taffel Akvavit. Hence the name.
Experience
It is a golden luxury aquavit made from distillate of dill and coriander seeds and rounded off with extract of American white oak. Unlike most other aquavits, it is completely without caraway seeds. This gives it an elegant, balanced taste with dill and coriander as the supporting forces, but with fine contributions from star anise, citrus and caramel in the slightly smaller roles.
This barrel-aged bottling tracks back to a 1946 launch, when it celebrated Aalborg's 100-year jubilee, hence the name. The barrel time adds a bright gold hue and mild vanilla sweetness, but it's still lively, with bracing mint and savory caraway layered on coriander and anise for a warming finish. — Kara Newman 94points/Wine Enthusiast magazine
