Fulkerson Syrah 750Ml

Some younger Finger Lakes winemakers see great potential in Syrah, and this is a strong model of what Syrah here can be – namely, with the oak dialed way back. Fermented in stainless steel and mostly unoaked (about 10% of it is barrel-aged). Bright nose bursting with fresh herbs, cherry and licorice. Edgy, nervy acidity, veering toward savory. Offers flavors of plum, black olive and tomato, spicy tannins and a surprisingly long finish. One of my favorite great-value finds in the region.
