"The 2019 Chablis Vieilles Vignes de Sainte Claire is more backward than Brocard’s other cuvées in this vintage, reluctantly unveiling melted wax and dried pineapple scents, a very slight reduction just dampening things down. The palate is balanced with a honeyed opening, like the Montmains demonstrating a little overripeness, with tropical notes dominating the finish. It just needs more tension and more nervosité and as such, I would broach it in its youth." (88 pts.)
